Photograph with digital painting enhancements.
This was born through the colour of an unusable photograph and the raw, felt emotion of the pain of a friend. The artist worked through her feelings until the work was complete. Years later, the same friend who produced the feelings which the artist was inspired to work with, experienced emotional healing, comfort, encouragement, and inspiration when gazing at this image. Both later remembered how the work was initially created! | Lotus12 x 12
Acrylic on canvas
This work celebrates the lotus and suggests we learn from it. The lotus grows rising above the mud to unfold its petals in light. Similarly, we should rise into broad-mindedness, understanding the truths that overlap or are shared in (religious) doctrines because in doing so, we are better placed to grow in our understanding, peace, and joy. The lotus is a special symbol in a few different spiritual paths; wonderful!
